iOS app slow to show live cam

I am enjoying Sighthound and the iOS app. This is a big improvement for my security setup.

One thing I noticed is that when camera is selected in the iOS app, it takes 10 seconds before the live feed appears. Is this normal? I have an Axis M7001 encoder with a surveillance camera at the front door. We don't have a peep hole so we use the camera to see who is there when the bell rings. The third party apps I have been using load video in about 1 second which works great for us. The difference here is that the Sighthound app has to fetch video from my computer running Sighthound, whereas the third party app gets it directly from the camera built-in server.

Is there something I can do to optimize this connection process so the camera feeds load more quickly in the app?

Hi Welshdog,

You are correct in that there is a delay because the stream is being generated by Sighthound and is not coming directly from the camera. There currently isn't any way to decrease this delay. The mobile apps are still fairly young and we are constantly working to improve them.
