Enable/Disable Rules via mobile app

by JustStan » Thu Apr 02, 2015 4:26 pm

I would really like the ability to enable and disable rules via the Android app. Even better would be the ability to say, "Disable this rule for x minutes".

Sample scenario:
I have one rule that records people in my backyard, and a separate identical rule that notifies me of people in my backyard via the Android app. If I am out and I get a notification on the latter rule, and then I check and see that it is my gardener, I want to be able to immediately disable the notification rule, without disabling the record rule, (i.e., turning the camera off altogether is not a solution), and without disabling notifications about people inside my house, (i.e., turning off push notifications altogether is not a solution), so that I am not bombarded by notifications about my gardener. It would be even better if I could say "Disable this rule for x minutes", so that I don't have to remember to turn it back on when the gardener is gone.

Thanks.

Hi JustStan,

Thanks for the feature request. Enabling and disabling rules is currently possible when connecting to the remote server with a web browser on a computer. This feature does not yet exist on the mobile apps but we are certainly considering it for future updates.

Regards,

This definitely should be put in the mobile app, and it wouldn't be that tough to do from a standpoint that the feature is already there in another form.

To get around this problem, request desktop mode and use your mobile phone's browser (worked with Chrome) to go to your Sighthound server. Via mobile you will see the toggles to turn on and off different rules.
