Avacom wifi HD cameras

by OldOneEye » Tue Mar 17, 2015 6:20 pm

These are the two cameras I bought last week (for less then $55 each I am impressed so far)
-Avacom H6080AW 1280*720P H.264 Wireless_N Outdoor Weatherproof Day/Night IP Camera(White)
-Avacom H6020W 1280*720P H.264 Wireless_N Indoor Dome Day/Night IP Camera(White)
they are ONVIF Cameras but only if wired, but after a little examination of the path info I found :

Code: Select all
rtsp://192.168.1.241/user=admin_password=R5XFY888_channel=1_stream=0.sdp?real_stream

this is working in my test area

I guess I was too fast to say win.
I get a frame of streaks every few seconds, sometime the whole screen sometime just portions. It is from the camera I have verified with VLC that it is in the feed.

Anybody have an idea, before I go to the manufacture for help.

Hi OldOneEye,

This is a problem that can occur when connected to an rtsp stream over UDP. Unlike TCP, UDP has no reliability - packets can be lost resulting in video corruption like you see. We can attempt to force a TCP connection by adding &svforcetcp to the end of the stream path. Here is how it should look with the example you provided:
Code: Select all
rtsp://192.168.1.241/user=admin_password=R5XFY888_channel=1_stream=0.sdp?real_stream&svforcetcp

Hi - I'm trying to get my Avacom H5060W to work with Sighthound and not having too much luck either by ONVIF or RSTP or straight IP/Port settings.

Anyone got some tips?

Heard back from Avacom and they said the URL for RSTP is like this:
Code: Select all
rtsp://username:[email protected]:10554/tcp/av0_0

However, I'm not sure how to generate a URL like this in Sighthound - I can't pass validations. Suggestions?

Hi joelataylor,

Thanks for sharing the URL. I've attached an image of how this URL should look when entered into the camera setup.

hi Devin, thanks for the response. I had actually tried those settings and it still doesn't work for me. I can actually see the camera using ONVIF but it won't connect using that either.

I've got IP Camera Viewer 2 working. It's using Wanscam IP settings.

So I'm not sure why I'm having so much trouble with Sighthound.
