Why is there not a filter to remove all temp storage

by evansgo » Wed Mar 11, 2015 3:45 pm

I have only been using it for a few days, but there is one seemingly obvious shortfall in how the captured list is displayed.

The most obvious (and probably easy fix) is the lack of a filter to remove ALL the non-rule clips. It's fine to say that they are there just in case the rules miss something, well in that case lets have it in the background, not pretty much as the default view. When I come to review the files I don't want to have to look through each rule individually, I want all cameras and only the rules capture files, which unless I am missing something is not currently possible.

Also I understand that because of the way your program works you have to have the streams always being downloaded in order to analyse them, but I'd like the option of sending them to a ramdisk and dumped after it fills up AND the preselected rules clips being saved to a separate folder (not exported so still under the control of sighthound). Like a lot of others now I am using SSD's more and more and I do not like the idea of you constantly saving and re-writing to these and this option would solve this quite neatly.

Hi evansgo,

Thanks for the feature requests. Having grouped or custom filters could certainly be useful for those with large amounts of cameras and rules. In the meantime if you'd like to minimize the amount of video that is not saved by a rule you can set the "Temporarily keep all video for up to: __hours" to 1 hour.

We appreciate the feedback and will take both requests into consideration for future updates.

Regards,

-Devin
