Samsung (and other) Smart TV's

by Ken R » Sat Feb 28, 2015 7:04 pm

Was wondering if anybody is using Sighthound with their SMART TV (Samsung or otherwise).

This could be using the built in webbrowsers, or an app for the TV.

I haven't been able to find any apps that will do this, and so far on my Samsung Smart TV (2014) when trying to use the browser to go to sighthound's webpage I'm getting a server not found error on the TV's browswer. I can access the webpage from computers on the network, and I've verified the TV can communicate to other computers/internet. Just doesn't seem to want to see sighthound.

Any thoughts?

MK808, or other android based HDMI sticks, can run many Android programs like ip cam viewer which can be viewed on any TV that has an HDMI input.

I have not found a single Smart TV that can view live or recorded videos from this program, or other surveillance software.

Thank you, I've been able to view it using computer to HDMI setup if needed, May also look at one of the RaspPi devices with a channel that can do it, or using the web browser.

Chromecast may be another option since it can kick the channel over to the cameras if it's turned on.

Hoping not to have to add another media player box to the setup, but is doable.

Webbrowser on the TV seems the easiest, but not sure yet, why it has an issue.

That MK808 is a super small media stick, not really a box. Can be plugged into the TV, and power can run off of the TVs USB connection. I may have one for sale.. let me know
