Digital glitches on lower part of video

by jmac » Mon Feb 23, 2015 9:38 am

I set up my cameras using short cat6 cables for initial setup (worked perfect)
Now I have one camera on a 75' cat6 cable (same brand) and another on a 50' cat6 cable, now both camera give off this digital glitch randomly (see pictures) not sure what to make of it, last night the glitches stopped by now in the morning it's doing it again. the cables are brand new, the cable path is clear, although I do have some extra cable rolled up because the run was only 30 feet, could that be causing it? Do I need to straighten the cat 6 cable, shorten it to the exact length of the run?
(Alibi Cameras, Mac Mini, Netgear poe switch)
Any help would be great! Thanks

Update-

I believe the glitch is coming from the sighthound application and not the cables. I am able to go to the cameras web feed and, viewed side by side, only the video from sighthound has these digital glitches. (I can view the video glitch free from visiting the cameras ip address in my web browser)

I am running this on an older mac mini (2010) 4 gb ram, activity monitor shows around 95% of processes being used! So I may need a newer mac mini, which I planned on getting after I tested the application. Could that cause the digital glitches?

The glitches happen about 4 times per minute, sometimes it goes a few minutes glitch free and then it will glitch every few seconds, these glitches are causing false people detection alerts and is very annoying.

A common problem and is has nothing to do with the cables.

I refer you to other threads in this forum about it. See;

topic11813

for how to fix.
