Grey areas in the timeline

by Axel » Wed Feb 11, 2015 7:59 am

You write in the support: In addition to saved clips, all video is recorded and saved for a temporary period of time, then deleted. Temporary video that contains no detected motion is always displayed in green in the video clip timeline in the Search View. Temporary video that contains detected motion will be displayed in blue if it matches the criteria of the selected rule, otherwise it is displayed in green.

But in my timeline I find grey areas, not green, not blue. My schedule for rules is set to "Every da - 24 hours". My storage for clips an temorary video ist set to 500 GB. Used 200 GB, still available 300 GB.

See the attached snapshot:

When all video is recorded, why I have every day some hours without video? And why there are some little green areas in the large grey area? I checked it: In these little green areas there is no motion detected at all.

Thank you for your help
Axel

Hi Axel,

This gap indicates that video was not recorded at that time. This could be due to the computer entering sleep mode, the camera losing connection, the user running Sighthound being logged out, as well as several other scenarios.

I'd be happy to take a look at your logs for any indication of what happened if you could submit a bug report by going to "Help > Report a Problem". Be sure to include a link to this post so we can match the bug report to you.

Regards,

-Devin
