Bug in chrome on loading clips (remote access)

by joelegg » Mon Feb 09, 2015 12:04 am

when playing rule triggered clips via browser (mac chrome in my case), the player continues to play even if the video is buffering still. so the image just stops.

work around is to pause and wait...

Hello,

Sorry for the delayed response. I've attempted to reproduce this on a few different macs and have had no success. Does this only happen for you on Chrome? Are you running the latest versions of Chrome and Flash? In the meantime I'll continue to try to replicate this.

Regards,

-Devin

Hi Devin,

The original issue seemst o have been fixed in the latest chrome update, but instead of playing whilst there is no data, it now skips through and doesn't buffer enough to play the video smoothly like a youtube video would.

THe way i'd see it working is, it would buffer until it has enough cached to play smoothly all the way through.

Right now, it plays, catch ups, will pause for 1 second then and skip .5 seconds of frames.

if you click the start of the video again, it then plays fine as it's buffered plenty.

Does that make sense - is this normal? Regardless of my upload speed (which is cable) it shoudl still wait until it has enough.

Cheers

Joel
