Is Sighthound right for me? Largeish installation

by Bubby4j » Sat Jan 31, 2015 1:05 pm

Hi,

I'm interested in Sighthound for use with around 20-30 IP cameras which will range in resolution from 2MP to 3MP each, possibly with a couple 5MP cameras. It'll be for a church with several buildings, IR cameras indoor and outdoor. From what I've read it seems Sighthound is fairly CPU intensive.

Here are my questions:
Is Sighthound a good fit for this? Should I wait for the "enterprise" version that they're working on?

Does Sighthound support PTZ cameras? I'm not planning on getting any, but it'd be nice to have the feature.

What kind of hardware would I need for this? I'm planning on building a rackmounted server, but unsure how beefy of a machine I'd need.

Thanks!

I played with it a bit, and feel it's too much designed for a home user to be of use for me. Perhaps the enterprise version will be better.
