Cameras shutting off.

by WNC » Tue Dec 23, 2014 1:14 pm

Hi Folks,

Looking for a solution to a problem. My sighthound programs, (two licenses) at two different locations, keep disarming the cameras when I view them from a outside third party app like tinycams monitor pro on my cell phone or my tablet.

After returning back to the camera locations, the only way to re-arm the cameras is to close the program and reboot my computers. If I try to re-arm them (before a reboot) nothing will happen. The screen simply spins.

After closing the program, they will not reopen until I reboot the computer. Then and only then can I re-arm the cameras after a full reboot.

Using the sighthound remote app has no effect on re-arming the cameras after they have disconnected.

The cameras are never off line and can be viewed by third party viewing apps or though a web browser. This problem started after the update last month.

Anyone have any ideas on what I can do to resolve the issue. One cpu is Vista the other is Win7. All cameras are set to deliver by TCP with latest firmware.

Thank you for any help.

Hi WNC,

I'm sorry to hear you are experiencing this issue. Some cameras only allow a certain number of connections at a time. We have a couple of cameras in our office which will even crash and reboot if too many connections are made. Does the cameras ever disconnect when you haven't connected using a third party application?

Regards,

-Devin

Devin sorry for the late reply. I had family in town for the holiday. To answer your question, No cameras have never turned off/disconnected before.

Yes all the cameras have a set number of connections, but I have never exceeded that limit.

This really has me stumped. I have stopped using sighthound for the moment due to this issue. As I said the only way to re-arm/reconnect the cameras is to reboot the CPU controlling the program. Both locations have a 60 down/5 up service. Both behind Netgear routers
