ONVIF support

by brdrx » Tue Nov 25, 2014 8:14 pm

It would be great if you could support detection and configuration of cameras using the ONVIF standard.
When trying to setup my q-see camera, I had to use some sample soap queries to find the stream path for the rtsp stream. It worked out in the end, but could have been simpler.
In addition, once you have basic ONVIF support, this could allow you to control cameras and their setups as well. Coming back to the q-see camera - I don't seem to be able to access the camera's website (if it has one) to configure it. Doing it manually with some soap requests will require some patience and a lot of time...
Thanks,
Hagen.

Hi Hagen,

Onvif support is something we are currently working on and hope to have in a future build.

Great! Looking forward to this feature. I also signed up for the beta program, so hoping to get my fingers on it early. :)

+1 on the ONVIF support. I had a very difficult time coming up with the stream URL for a camera. Couldn't find much out online. Worked with the maker and got it figured out. ONVIF support would take SH to the next level.
