Creating Sound Files for SH

by ahallada » Thu Oct 23, 2014 2:18 am

I just wanted to share how I created wav files on a Mac to use within SH actions during motion detection.

1. I imported a sound file already on my Mac under iLife Sound Effects ie. barkingdog.caf into Garage Band. You can also create your own sound file in Garage Band. You can drag and drop a sound file into an open Garage Band session too.

2. In iTunes preferences I changed the import format to wav file. Then, I exported the file to iTunes.

3. After the file was imported into iTunes, I highlighted the file and then right clicked on the file and converted it to a wav file.

4. Then I did a search for the file because it doesn't just show up in iTunes. (see video)

5. Then I dragged and dropped the file on my desktop so it was easier to find.

6. In SH in Take Actions of the camera I clicked on Play this Sound/ Custom and then browse, point to the desktop and click on the file.

Here is a recap of how to create a wav file on a Mac!

Enjoy!
