change seconds before after rule trigger

by edro » Wed Oct 01, 2014 6:13 pm

"Each clip starts five seconds before the event that triggers the rule...and ends ten seconds after."

I'd like to change the POST rule trigger time. That is, rather than 10 seconds, I would make it 20 seconds.

Is this possible?

Hi edro,

It currently is not possible to change the duration of a clip before and after a rule is triggered but in most cases you should be able to customize your rule so that you don't miss any important events.

For example, lets say you have set a boundary rule for a camera on your driveway so that you are alerted whenever someone enters. This is great for knowing when someone is approaching your house but if they loiter on your driveway you won't see it in your clip list (for this specific rule) because the rule only cares about that boundary being crossed. In this case I would draw a region over my driveway and use the "Moving objects that are: On Top Of" target so that my clips will show the full event.

If you don't mind describing your scene or sending screenshots I'd be happy to help configure your rule. You may also find the second half (Advanced uses) of this support article helpful: https://www.sighthound.com/support/its- ... many-clips

Thank you, Devin. I think the rule that you told me about will work. Very cool!
