Hi Johnboy00,
Thanks for the message. For software in general, ours included, I always suggest that people make purchases based on what actually exists at the moment rather than on the promise of future updates. We do have a lot of (in my opinion) great features planned, but if the current product doesn't meet your needs that doesn't do a lot of good. We'd love to have you as a customer, and hope that you'll keep an eye on coming developments even if now doesn't wind up being the right time.
Thanks for your feature requests, we'll be sure to keep these in mind. Better auto-start/service functionality is certainly one that's on the wishlist already. While mousewheel doesn't shift frames, the left and right arrow keys do. For quick navigation of clips and frames you might want to take a look at all of the keyboard shortcuts as shown in the "Controls" menu and described below:
- Space = switch between play and pause
- Up/down = select previous/next clip in list
- Left/right = previous/next frame. Tip: pressing and holding advances and accelerates playback speed.
- Shift + left/right = go back/forwards 2 seconds
- Shift + up/down = select top/bottom clip in list.
- Control + left/right = go to previous/next triggered event (blue mark in the playback bar) or beginning/end of clip
- Control + up/down = goes to previous/next day of clips.
- Enter = replay from the first dark blue mark
- Control + A = select all clips (for quick deletion).
- Alt + 0 = Set playback speed to 1/2x
- Alt + 1 = Set playback speed to 1x
- Alt + 2 = Set playback speed to 2x
- Alt + 3 = Set playback speed to 3x
- C = Continuous Playback. Auto-progress through search results.
Substitute Command for Control in the above under OS X.
Best,
- ryan
