False positive improvement

by jeanf » Mon Aug 11, 2014 10:01 am

Hi,

I'm very pleased with the overall quality of the software.

However, there are still some false positive alerts, and quite a lot of these have the matching area close or equal to the actual size of the image.

Could we have a filter like "ignore objects larger than x pixels" or "more than X% of the frame size" ?

That could help a lot,

Thanks,

Jean-Francois

Glad you're enjoying the software. Thanks for the compliments and the feature request, we'll take this into consideration in planning future updates.

Hi Jean and Ryan,

This would be a huge help!

One of the classic false positives are:
1. Dropped / half RTSP frames
2. The change from night mode to day mode when the IR filter opens or closes.

Hi Max,

I see that you found the solution to the dropped frame problem in another forum topic. Here's a link in case anyone else is experiencing the same issue: topic11813?hilit=svforcetcp#p15423

Yes thanks Devin,

Please can you keep us posted on the feature request from Jean to ignore objects larger than a certain size.

This would remove false positives for both the IR change over, and clouds passing overhead.

Thanks,
