Samsung Galaxy S5

by scobo68 » Fri Aug 01, 2014 1:36 pm

I just upgraded my android phone and I am having a problem with the Android app.

I can log in to the app fine and see the cameras however if I choose to view a specific camera it takes a while and sometimes nearly a minute to load and just as long to revert to all cameras. It makes it difficult if I want to "zoom" in to view what is currently happening in the view because by the time the camera loads the action is over.

I am running a Galaxy S5 with OS 4.4.2.

My old phone, an Atrix 4G running Ginger Bread, was actually faster at loading the cameras as being nearly instantaneous which is perplexing. Video clips however do load much faster on the S5 than they ever did on the Atrix.

The camera load time is bad both on wifi and network.

Is it an app not taking into account the new Kit Kat OS or a phone/os thing? I know "new" things are supposed to be "backwards compatible" but it isn't always the case and things don't always "play nice" the way they are intended to.

Thanks for any assistance.

Ryan,

I just installed the updated android app and disabled the hls/h.264 streams and the live feed is now quick to load.

Fantastic and great job for the update!
