Starter Edition - Expiration Date

Hi,

I am using Sighthound to watch my dog while I am gone and do not require two cameras. Does the Starter Edition expire? I updated Sighthound today and now it says that I have 14 days to use the Pro Edition. After the 14 days will it just go back to the Starter Edition?

Hi Asroth,

The Starter Edition can be used free forever as before, it will never expire.

The 14 day pro trial is to ensure everyone has a chance to try out the paid features if they are interested, and the software will then revert to the Starter Edition. We used to have to generate trials by hand for anyone who would ask, and many people would never think to ask, so it's pretty exciting to be able to do this automatically for everybody now.

Thank you very much for the information. This program is truly amazing and I am so glad that I found it. That is awesome news. I know that many people have mentioned this and I completely understand that there are more pressing issues/functions that you guys want to get Sighthound to do, but having sound would be awesome. In my case being able to hear my dog dog (if he is barking) would be great. My next question is how do I get it to show as HD. is the 640x (i forget the other number)) the highest resolution it can go if I am using the Macbook Pro webcam?

Glad to hear you're enjoying the app!

With the new update on OSX the resolutions you see listed for your webcam will vary based on what the camera supports (this will come to windows soon as well).

Attached are examples of the cameras built into my laptop and external monitor.
