A "time frame" to save to a certain folder

by saintjohnny » Fri Jun 06, 2014 3:36 pm

That way under rules, I could set to save to a local folder like "google drive" under "if seen" during the hours of 8:00AM to 4:00PM, that way anyone who came into my house during those hours, if they stole my computer, my files would still be on google drive which a lot of people here do already, but also that sighthound is not constantly saving and uploading to google drive my own activities during the normal hours I'd be at home before and after work. The only savings here being bandwidth of course, and temporary hard drive space (space I don't care as much about as bandwidth being maxed out while i'm at home moving around in front of the camera). For now my work around is to disable it when I get home which is easy enough, but the time frame feature would be great! :)

Also I know it's more secure to always be saving your footage at any time of day which I'm doing, this is just in regards to my separate google drive save function.

Hi saintjohnny,
You can duplicate the rule you currently have and set the new rule to only export to your google drive folder between 8 and 4.

For example: Rule A would save clips 24 hours everyday as usual and Rule B would not save clips, but only export to your local folder between 8 and 4.

For details on how to schedule a rule see http://www.sighthound.com/support/set-rule-record-certain-times

Thanks Devin! I never noticed I could do that (obviously)! I right click those areas to set things, so that area doesn't support a right click so I never noticed I could left click and set the time. I should have known there was this feature, it was probably one of the first lol.
