Im wondering if writing 2 hd cameras to a remote (2-4 mtrs away) usb3 hdd at same time as reading from the same hdd to view clips remotly eg. will slow it to a crawl or give the sighthound prog too much to do ???

We have certainly had customers using older USB drives, I don't imagine that even with HD streams you'd have trouble with just two cameras on a USB3 drive (and your computer supports USB 3). There are numerous variables that can come into play between the drive, computer, drivers, cable, etc... so it's impossible to make guarantees, but I don't foresee you having a problem.
