Reconnection after DVR power cycle

by Unlucky » Mon May 12, 2014 4:19 pm

Whenever my DVR power cycles, SightHound seems to have issues reconnecting to the stream automatically.

All I see is this:

If I click the "here" the image comes back almost straight away, but that isn't practical if I am away.

Hi Unlucky,

I looked over the bug report you sent in, unfortunately the recent logs did not have any information about the cameras. Would it be possible for you to either send in the camera logs themselves, or an archive of the entire log directory? These are located in "logs" or "logs/cameras", and the data directory can be found as described in this article: sighthound.com/support/where-does-sighthound-store-data

Does the state you posted a screenshot of remain there indefinitely, or what is the longest you have left it? At the slowest the retry mechanism eventually falls back to once a minute, and if the entire camera process were hung for some catastrophic reason it would be restarted within approximately 4 minutes.

You mention clicking "here" - does the camera also come back on if you simply toggle the green enable/disable button?
