Option to make time/date stamp smaller

by BrettC » Thu May 08, 2014 5:30 pm

Right now the time/date stamp takes up a good amount of space on my video. It would be great to have a variable size option for the time/date stamp. Perhaps leaving the current size as the largest option and adding two smaller options.

Thanks!

Hi BrettC,
Thanks for the feature request! Customization of timestamps (general date format as well as font/size etc...) is something we would like to add in a future release.

In the meantime, many cameras have a timestamp option available on the configuration page which may provide the options you are looking for.

Hi Brett,

I'd be curious as to what resolution you are recording that the timestamp seems to be covering too much? It is currently adaptively sized to be as small as possible while being readable in exported clips.

320x240 is the exception and is much smaller in practice, but many video players can't even shrink the viewport that small, so it will typically be upscaled. The 320x240 timestamp may actually look quite large in the SV live view, as it is being doubled in size to 640x480 - making the actual sizing any smaller would render it unreadable however.

Attached is an image comparing the timestamp at 320x240, 640x480, and 1280x720
