Pan/tilt function

by pmienes » Thu Apr 24, 2014 12:56 pm

Hi, I would very much welcome it to be able to pan and tilt from within the Sighthound app. Competitors like DComplex offer this functionality.

I second this! The ability to follow motion using the built in pan/tilt functions would expand the field of view tremendously and for me require less cameras to accomplish the same task. It would also take this application to new heights. I hope this one is on the to do list ;) ...

To make this work really well Sighthound would first of all need to build up a complete composite image of the area covered by the pan and tilt features of the camera, similar to how photography panorama applications work by stitching multiple images together. This would then be the image that was presented in the rule writing screen, so it would be possible to very conveniently work with the entire field of view of the camera.

Of course a great additional feature would be that the camera could follow an object by moving the pan/tilt, this could easily be an attribute that was set for any areas that were defined and the camera would then track accordingly.

I was thinking this would be an excellent feature especially if the zoom was employed to capture Facial Features for facial recognition, record a still image into a dBase for trending and suspicious behaviour. (crook comes in one day to case the joint and returns the next with hoodie and crowbar)
