Would purchase app if cameras were supported

by kronosmen » Tue Apr 01, 2014 6:02 pm

Our company uses two different IP camera manufacturers across various network segments.

D’link DCS-5610 (which is a PTZ camera)
Vivotek PZ-8111 (which is PTZ camera)

For example, the server that would host your software would be on the 10.232.220.xxx segment.
The cameras are on segments such as: 161.188.220.xxx and 10.232.227.xxx.
We block nothing at our Cisco switches between segments.

I can currently view all Vivotek cameras across all segments using their free viewer.
And can view all D’link cameras across all segments from their free viewing application.

We would like to purchase your software and view both types of cameras within your application

Can your application fit our needs?

Hi Kronosmen,

Sighthound Video should work with any camera that publicly exposes a video stream. You can try configuring your cameras in the free version of the application to verify that any potential URLs work.

Do you know what URLs you are currently using to access the cameras in other software?

Ryan,

Yes, I have all the info on the video URL's and IP addresses.
I can see all camera's via the browser.

I will download the free app, as per your suggestion, and let you know the results.

thanks,

Hi Kronosmen,

I did a little research and found that "rtsp://CAMERAIPADDRESS:554/live.sdp" should work with the PZ-8111 and DCS-5610. You would enter this in Sighthound Video camera setup by selecting "Other IP Camera" in the "Camera Type" drop list and entering the following:

Protocol: rtsp
Stream path: /live.sdp

I've attached a screenshot of how this should look when entered. Note - you can leave the port field empty since "554" is the default port for rtsp.

If you have not already, please download and try our free starter edition at http://www.sighthound.com/download
