Multiple Drive Recording

by jeffreywaldner » Tue Mar 25, 2014 10:26 pm

would like to have recordings saved on more hard drives rather than just have the option for one. planning to make this my primary DVR for 12 security cameras but will not work till this option is available.
Or maybe there's something i missed...

Hi Jeffrey,

In the licensed versions of the application you can have clips matching a given rule be exported via ftp or to a local/networked drive, one of those might satisfy your use case?

For more details please see the following help articles:

The suggested solution would work but you loose the built in house cleaning.
eg delete old files when the drive gets full.

Other option include
-turn the disks to dynamic and span the volumes. Windows only.
-use a program to pool the storage.
A lot more flexible than raid.
The one I use on my media server is Drive Bender - Division-M.
-hardware raid.
-use a program to do the house cleaning on the other drives. eg WatchDirectory
