iPhone App

by [email protected] » Sun Mar 23, 2014 1:01 pm

I can view the All camera page but when I try to go into the individual camera view, the pin wheel keeps turning. I have tried closing, reinstalling, turning the camera off and on, different iPhones, different IPads, I still can't view the individual camera. Suggestions?

Hi Scott,

Sorry you're experiencing trouble with the app. Is it only the live streams that are unavailable, or are clips also having trouble loading? Does it make a difference whether you are on the local network or external network, or wifi vs. cellular connection?

There is an issue in the current build of the iPhone client that can cause problems loading streams and clips if your username or password contains a space, or certain special characters such as "@". This has been fixed and will be available in a future release.

Thanks for the quick reply. I can't load clips either on my iphone from the app. It looks like it starts to load to the play screen but then jumps back to the preview page. It makes no difference if I'm on my local network or another. Thanks for the info and I look forward to the next version.

Hi Scott,

Do you have any special characters in your username or password? If so you may want to try without and see if that fixes the issue (I was unclear from your followup post if you had or not). We've had 4 prior reports of what you describe - 3 were the space/special character in the username/password issue, and one was a user in the UK on O2, and it seemed to be something at the network level blocking the traffic. As soon as he switched to a Vodafone sim everything worked as expected.

Best,
- ryan

That was it... I removed the special characters out of the user name and password.

I still had the same issue. I had to not only, log out, shut the app down but it wouldn't start working until I rebooted my iPad and iPhone. But it all works now. Thanks so much. Great program and great support. Time to find a few more cameras.

Cheers

Glad to hear it!

iOS tip for the future - if you ever want to kill an app to ensure it is running from a "clean state", you can double tap the home button to bring up the "recent apps" overlay, swiping up on an app will remove it from this list and terminate it if it was still in memory.
