Error connecting to the server

by daveba33 » Sun Mar 23, 2014 8:57 am

When I try to login on my iPhone I instantly get a mrssage "Error connecting to the server". All of my inputs are good and I can connect to the camera from the PC and via a browser. I tried deleting the app and reinstalling it but to no avail. Any ideas?

Hi Dave,

When you say that you've been able to connect from a browser, is that from the computer running Sighthound Video? Have you been able to connect via browser from another computer/device on the local network? You can try this from your phone's browser as well. Connecting from the same computer verifies that remote access is running properly, but you may have firewall/security applications blocking connections from other devices.

Hi Behman,

The iOS app to Sighthound Video desktop application is a closed system, it isn't running through any external servers, so there isn't any sort of outage that can occur.

When you note that your IP address has not changed, have you confirmed that both the IP address of your computer on the internal network and the public IP address of your home have not changed?

Is your iOS app able to connect when on the local network using the local IP? Are you able to connect from a browser within your network, or from outside your network?
