Timestamp problems

by danielpinho » Sun Mar 23, 2014 1:53 am

Hi,

First of all, congratulations for the great software.

I have a minor problem, though. When running the latest version of the SightHound software on Windows XP, timestamp doesn't work. All it shows is a capital 'C' on the top left corner of the screen.

Is there any way I can fix that from my end?

Thanks in advance.

Best regards
Daniel

Hi Daniel,

Great to hear that you're enjoying the software! The timestamp issue you mention was been reported by one user, but he wound up switching computers before we had a chance to debug what may be occurring. If you'd be willing to run a special build to capture more information let me know and hopefully we can figure out what is going on.

Are you running an international version of XP? Or do you have any special language/time/etc... settings enabled?

Hi Daniel,

To follow up, I believe I just found and fixed this issue. Timestamps should be working for you in the next release of the software.

Best,
- ryan

I also suffer the same problem.
The time stamp not work properly.
A capital "C" appear on the top left corner instead of time and date.

The system I am using is XP SP2.

I have a slightly different problem with timestamps. While recording, the resultant video(in 15 minute blocks) shows only the start time, so fast forwarding through the video to a specific time is near impossible. The time, while viewing/monitoring, keeps up with the system clock. Can this be remedied? or is this a configurable option somewhere?

Can you elaborate on your problem? The timestamps are embedded in the video themselves when they are created, and it sounds like everything is working correctly for you in Sighthound Video. Are you trying to view files from another application? Note that I would not advise interacting with Sighthound's data directory. If you want to preserve or share a given clip you can use the "Export" function from within the app, or automatically export clips matching a given rule with the ftp or local export responses.
