VDV Freezing issues

by kasper58 » Sun Oct 27, 2013 3:02 am

I was having issues with VDV freezing and wrote you about it.
Your reply "Vitamin D Video does depend on a good stream of video frames, so if there are any drop outs or corrupt frames, this can cause issues with the app's algorithms."
As a consequence, I stopped using it as a stalled App was no good to me.
The short question is, has this issue been addressed, in the if a stream freezes, does VDV reset it.

Also any thought being given to developing a Linux version that I can run on my QNAP. It would be great as smaller power consumption, and it runs all the time.

Hi Warren,

I looked back at your support history, that answer was an early reply before the problem was more clear. This really seems to have been a bug with the camera itself, with the video stream freezing. I have heard of this with cameras of this make before on various firmware versions, but I think it has been greatly improved by the manufacturer. We have one of that same model in our office that operates without any trouble. Please ensure your cameras are running the latest firmware version found here: http://foscam.us/forum/new-firmware-for ... t6746.html

A linux version would be a great addition and will hopefully come someday. However, at the moment we're investing a lot of energy in web/mobile access so it isn't on the map in the next few months at least.

Thanks,
- ryan

Thank you for your reply.
I was pleasantly surprised this morning that they were still running no problems.
I have upgraded the software before, maybe something has been sorted in the move to ver2.
I have spent too much money to date on different appz, and VDV appears to be the best for lack of false alarms, and support.
