Tweaking the recording time BEFORE and event

by Bryan_G » Sun Jun 30, 2013 10:22 pm

I know that by default, the app includes 5 seconds of video before the time the event trips. Is there a way to tweak this? I'd like 10 or 15 seconds prior.

I have a camera covering a driveway. I've set up a zone so that I don't record every car on the street. Unfortunately, 5 seconds prior to the car entering the driveway isn't enough time to tell the direction from which the vehicle came.

Thanks!

Hi Bryan,

There isn't a way to change this at the moment. If you're simply curious as you view and you're still in the cache time period (the amount of time all video is saved for, configurable in preferences) you can easily step back and view this. In the search view select your driveway camera rather than "Any camera" to enable entering into all video. At the beginning of the relevant clip simply use navigation controls as normal to step outside of the clip segment, either frame back or -2 seconds. You'll then jump into the prior segment of video, whether that is another clip matching the current rule, or a length of video between matching clips.
