Q-See cameras?

I like Sighthound so much on my business setup (17 HD cameras) that I am considering using it for my home system. I currently have a Q-see 4k system that uses all Q-See IP cameras. I looked in the Sighthound camera section and didn't see any Q-See cameras listed. I don't like Q-See's interface and t...

Re: New user setup

Have you gone into the Hikvision camera set up software to activate the camera? You need to do this prior to trying to bring the camera into Sighthound. I have 17 Hikvision cameras and the system is rock solid.

Re: 99% CPU usage

I just wanted to post an update: My system has been on 24/7 for months now without and issues at all. There have been no system crashes, which I had all the time with my low-resolution Geovision system, and my CPU usage is still causing me no problems at all with it running in the low 20's to high 3...

Re: 99% CPU usage

This is for Alex:

I am going to install an outdoor camera looking at a parking lot. What is needed for the license plate reader? Is this a plug-in for Sighthound?

Thanks,
steve

Re: 99% CPU usage

Thanks for the reply Alex,
Simple change on the playback video. Works perfectly.

And, I couldn't agree more on the Hikevision cameras. Great price and build quality. Perfect performance too.

I am impressed with your support.

Re: 99% CPU usage

So, thanks to all who chimed in. And, thanks to the staff at SightHound for extending my trial period. I now have 17 cameras, all Hikvision 4k. Most are set at 1080p and some are set at 4k. I am using around 38% CPU usage at the top end and in the low 20's in the low end. I am very pleased with the ...

Re: 99% CPU usage

I would love to but my trial period has expired. I have requested an extension but haven't heard back yet. If they get me another, I'll do it with the card and without. When looking in the sighthound web page, there is no mention of a video card. I am trying to configure a system that uses up to 16 ...

Re: 99% CPU usage

I may be missing on the storage option. I have four 1T surveillance drives and want to break up the video on all four drives. It seems if I try to move a camera, then all cameras go with it. Is this true?

Thanks

Re: 99% CPU usage

So, I went to Fry's and basically started over with the computer. I bought a higher-end Gigabyte motherboard and a new gen 8 Intel 8700k, 6 core 12meg cache, processor. I also purchased a dedicated Gigabyte 1060 video card. After getting it up and running again, I am seeing much different results. W...
