Re: Sighthound Video 7 BETA 1 is released

Sighthound Video.exe starts, takes high CPU usage and crushed.

Uninstall 7.0.4b and install 6.1.1 again. It works fine.

Same issue here with Win10 Pro. It's still detecting, recording and can be accessed via the app but the desktop playback is broken.

Re: Sighthound Video 7 BETA 1 is released

Followup to my last comment, as I just upgraded the machine I'm running sighthound on. I have about 17 cameras, varying resolutions. Old machine: i7-6700T, 4 core, 8 thread 2.8GHz base, Intel 530 GPU. Sighthound 6: 80-100% cpu, negligible GPU usage Sighthound 7 beta: ~50% cpu, ~73% Intel 530 GPU us...

Re: Enough is enough

Before anyone can assist:
-What year is the iMac?
-What camera resolution and frame rate?
-Camera connection to Sighthound via ONVIF or RTSP?

I was running on an old second gen low voltage quad core Xeon and it handled 7 cameras (1080p 10fps) easily with only 1-2% usage for each on the cpu.

Re: QuickSync

Hi, Thanks for the reply. Your blog states version 6 of Sighthound uses Intel GPU offloading. Why are the streams not utilizing the GPU? GPU Offloading The new computer vision engine can utilize Intel GPUs (starting from 6xx series). While those are no speed demons by any means, they do help with ta...

QuickSync

I tried emailing support but did not receive a reply. I cannot get sighthound to use QuickSync. Plex will use it when needed so I know its available and working on the system. Is there any config file or setting I need to edit to enable QuickSync? I am using a Intel CPU with HD630 graphics.

Re: H.265

Last I heard from support was hopefully in the next release. I've been holding off on the unlimited camera licensee since there is still no support for h265. We are approaching 2020 and about 99% of cheap cameras even support the codec now.

Re: H.265

+1 for h265 support. Its almost 2019 and this codec is now standard in all IP cams. Holding off on the unlimited license until this is added.
