250 Alerts in 9 hours all caused by a spiderweb strand

From 9:30 PM yesterday to 6:10 AM today, SightHound had 250 false "People" detections all caused by a strand of spider web moving in the breeze in front of my video doorbell. The images included in the email show the areas SH thinks it detected a person. Some of the images are pretty laugh...

Re: False "people" detection caused by headlights

Hi Kevin, I'm using a people entering region rule and the region excludes the street and vehicles. I never have the issue during the day which tells me the rule and region is working as expected. The night time issue is related to the headlights aimed towards the camera as vehicles approach the inte...

False "people" detection caused by headlights

My house is located on a corner lot in an extremely quiet subdivision and my street has an intersection roughly in-line with my front door. I have a soffit mounted camera located at one end of the house that captures a good portion of the length of the house, walkway, and front yard. There's a small...

Re: Room for improvement (I hope the SH staff reads this)

Absolutely agree with all of these. The current attitude seems to be "we do good motion detection--we don't need to do anything more than that". SH could be so much more than it currently is.

Re: API to Arm/Disarm Cameras

I really think that adding the ability to both completely disable the cameras and the ability to disable alerts but continue recording motion events would give SightHound some incredible exposure with the Home Automation crowd. For many of us into HA being able to automatically control what happens ...

Re: API to Arm/Disarm Cameras

Thanks for the update. Since it sounds like the enable/disable feature doesn't exist yet I'd like to throw in my $.02; I've hacked together an MQTT solution that executes a python script to disable or enable the cameras. This allows be to use my home automation system to call an HTTP endpoint to dis...

Re: Email delay

I also ran into this issue and in my case it had nothing to do with SightHound--I was having the issue with Amcrest alerts. The problem I found is that Gmail seems to frequently throttle emails when they contain image attachments. I see the same issue when I try to email myself pictures from my phon...

API to Arm/Disarm Cameras

I'm currently trialing the Pro Version and everything is working pretty well with the exception of cars being frequently detected as people. I'm using regions to get around this and I'm pretty happy with the way SH is working overall. One thing that I find annoying is that the isn't a way to easily ...
