Reolink -good and bad + question on iOS VPN

I was hesitating about going for a Hikvision Colorvu 4mp to cover the back of my property - where I want to keep an eye on the chickens/guinea-pigs + general oversight over the rear approach to the house. I opted instead to go for Reolink 511w (5mp, 4x optical + PoE), RCL 410 5mp bullet cam + 3x Arg...

Re: battery powered wifi RTSP cam for sighthound?

No, but that’s exactly what I’m looking for as well.

If I had the time I’d construct a Pi based camera with PIR etc, but I simply do not have the time :(

Re: Best cameras for use with Sighthound?

I’m just about to buy some cameras - I am tempted by the 4mp Colorvu Hikvision, but curious about the Partizan brand (I’m in Belgium). Where can I buy them/what are the prices Their site only seems to sell to professionals. Also - any chance anyone is running a wifi camera off a battery/solar charge...

Re: Sighthound Video 7 BETA 1 is released

Wow - having been one of the old timers who has been a client since the VitaminD Video days - this Beta looks it could be “the” major release I’ve been dreaming of :) Agree with a lot of the comments above, especially about having the option to leave recordings local. Sighthound has always been one ...

Re: Mac Firewall

Thanks Ryan, I still couldn't get it working - I gave up an fell back to a windows machine, and it works. I even got remote access working for the first time with this new version! I don't have the time now, but I thought I saw an article on this forum about switching to a more traditional port base...

Re: Mac Firewall

Hi Ryan,

It's 10.9.4.

I can send an error report if it helps?

Re: Mac Firewall

Hi Ryan,
I'm having the same issue - except the recommendations haven't worked.

I've tried removing the FW rules, changing the port and a reboot of the Mac.

As soon as I turn off the FW on the Mac, I can connect.

Any ideas?

Re: 3rd party iPhone, iPad and iOS app now available

Well, I have to say I'm stuck with this. I've dropped 2 support tickets to the iVDV app over the past few weeks - but no response. Maybe he'll look here? I can't find any way to *buy* the server (Mac) component. I've obviously run out of the trail period, and I lose the ability to connect back after...

Re: 3rd party iPhone, iPad and iOS app now available

I've using iVDV for about 10 days now - and I have to say it's rather addictive :) Congrats to the developer - I'll be making a donation in the near future. It does have issues, but given that it came from a "free-time" single developer - I'm not complaining. He's given me something I don'...

Re: Recording Framerate

Hi Ryan, In fact, for some reason the setting had switched back to h264, where I already know that VDV doesn't like h264 with my Edimax IC-3030i. I switched it back to MJPEG and I'm back to a "normal" framerate (less than the 15fps the camera supplies, but much better than the 0.5 fps with...
