Re: Sighthound Video 7 BETA 1 is released

Followup to my last comment, as I just upgraded the machine I'm running sighthound on. I have about 17 cameras, varying resolutions. Old machine: i7-6700T, 4 core, 8 thread 2.8GHz base, Intel 530 GPU. Sighthound 6: 80-100% cpu, negligible GPU usage Sighthound 7 beta: ~50% cpu, ~73% Intel 530 GPU usa...

Re: Sighthound Video 7 BETA 1 is released

My hat goes off, this is a MAJOR step forward in performance. I was running around 80-100% with nary any gpu usage on an i7-6700T. Now I'm back down into the 50% range and the GPU (Intel 530) is chugging along at ~73%. That's, obviously, huge and I'm glad to see that! Is there any commentary on the ...

Multiple drive storage support

There's obviously ways to fake this on windows (thank goodness for windows symlink support) but being able to split up the storage of the archives across multiple drives would be nice. Right now you can set another location as the storage location, which is nice, but being able to set the archive lo...

Re: Sighthound Video 6 beta issues

thanks! Now GPU offloading is supported for the systems with 6th to 8th generation Intel Core or Xeon processors with Iris® Pro graphics and Intel HD Graphics. does this just work out of the box? I have an intel hd graphics chip on my macbook pro running version 6. I haven't noticed a significant d...

Re: No updates, no support

The only concern I've got about killing off the forums is there's usually good historical, and searchable, information about it (so you might not always need to answer the same question, and there's historical context for things). That being said, I'm *VERY* glad to hear about the unifying of your p...

Re: Cached thumbnails

Figured I'd mention this is working great! Thanks!

Any chance of spider detection now? ;-)

Re: Cached thumbnails

I'll second that this would be great, as there's cases where some of my cameras will end up with hundreds of snapshots (usually due to spiders building cobwebs in front of the cameras, ergh) and this would speed up both the search, and the mobile clients - happy to dedicate the storage space for thi...

Detection of common moving items, and ignoring them

So plants blowing in the wind, spiders pulling webs across the cameras, etc are things that just happen. It would be awesome if there was a better way to learn what's "normal" given a scene and be able to better ignore it. As it stands there's a lot of events that occur as a result of &quo...

GPU offloading

It doesn't look like Sighthound currently makes much use of any GPUs that may be present on the system, outside of some decoding work. It would be awesome if we could offload some more of the image processing to the GPU so that we can either support more cameras on a setup, or just generally be more...
